Spider-Man: Brand New Day Crosses $2 Billion Worldwide, Becomes One of the Highest-Grossing Films Ever

Spider-Man: Brand New Day has crossed $2 billion worldwide, becoming only the eighth film in history to reach that benchmark and the second-fastest to do so, behind Avengers: Endgame. The film, Tom Holland's fourth solo outing as Peter Parker, currently stands at $785 million domestically and $1.23 billion overseas.

The record-breaking run started from the very first day. Brand New Day opened to $360 million domestically, the biggest debut in box office history, surpassing Avengers: Endgame's $357 million record set in 2019. It then became the second-fastest film to reach $1 billion globally, hitting the milestone in just six days, one day behind Endgame's record of five.

The film carries a $225 million production budget and centers on Holland's Peter Parker living in complete isolation after erasing himself from the memories of everyone he knows, before an unseen enemy hunts him down. It earned a 90% critic score and 98% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

With its current trajectory, Brand New Day is being watched closely to see whether it could become the first film ever to reach $1 billion domestically, with Star Wars: The Force Awakens currently holding the all-time domestic record at $936 million.
