What's the Story?

Caught in a funk, Brenda pretends that she is grounded and backs out of a ski trip with her friends. She finds a diary in her room that belonged to a previous resident. Brenda becomes fascinated by the girl's accounts of the political struggles and her own personal crises in the years 1968 and '69. She imagines herself, her family and her friends as the individuals described in the diary.
