Profanity is infrequent but used strongly when it occurs. "F_ck" is used 16 times, "c_nt" three times, and "f_ggot" and "c_cksucker" once each. "Sh_t" and "bastard" are also used a few times.

Alcohol and tobacco use appear throughout, including Chris smoking cigarettes. A young girl is injected with a sedative, and marijuana is referenced verbally.

Violence is disturbing more than gory, though some scenes are graphic. A man beats a young girl, throwing her down, straddling her, and punching her face. A man falls down a long flight of stairs in graphic detail, landing with blood pooling around his head. A girl stabs herself near the eye, with significant blood shown. In one scene where a mother is slapped to the floor, the actress was reportedly injured during filming, and her screams were real.

Sexual content is minimal. One sexual reference is mumbled and barely audible. A possessed preteen girl briefly wears a short dress exposing her underwear, in a non-sexual context with no nudity. A statue of a woman shows some breast cleavage but no nudity; this version does not appear on most streaming platforms.
